Three Prisoners Hanged in Northwestern Iran

Iranian authorities hanged three prisoners at Saqqez Central Prison on the morning of Wednesday August 3.

Iran Human Rights (AUG 4 2016): Three prisoners on death row for murder and drug charges were reportedly hanged at Saqqez Central Prison (Kurdistan province, northwestern Iran) on the morning of Wednesday August 3.

According to close sources, the prisoners are: 23-year-old Mostafa Salimzadeh, hanged on murder charged; 27-year-old Loghman Rashidi, hanged on drug charges; and 31-year-old Kaveh Sohrabi, hanged on drug charges.

The prisoners were reportedly transferred to solitary confinement on Tuesday August 2 in preparation for their executions. Iranian official sources, including the judiciary and the media, have been silent about these three execcutions.
