Execution on Murder Charges

Iran Human Rights (Dec 25 2017): Official sources reported the execution of a prisoner in Rajai Shahr Prison on multiple murder charges. Apparently he was one of the prisoners who were executed on Wednesday. At least eight prisoners were executed on Wednesday only two of which were reported by the official sources.

According to Javanonline website, a prisoner was hanged at Rajai Shahr Prison on multiple murder charges. According to the same source, the prisoner, identified as Ghadir sheykhju, was convicted of murdering three women and two men in the last 20 years.

It should be noted that Iran Human Rights (IHR) had reported the execution of eight prisoners at Rajai Shahr Prison mostly on murder charges on Wednesday December 20. Four other prisoners who were sentenced to execution in public were executed on an unknown site on the same day.

There is no information regarding any other execution at Rajai Shahr Prison since Wednesday. However, it seem that Ghadir Sheykhju was one of the eight prisoners who were executed on Wednesday.

Iran Newspaper had confirmed one of the executions that was carried on Wednesday December 21. The report mentioned the prisoner identified as Nima who was convicted of murdering a Police officer in Karaj in May 2007.

According to Iran Human Rights (IHR) the prisoner was identified as Nima Esma’ilian from ward 5 of Rajai Shahr Prison.
