Iran: Political Prisoner Kianoosh Sanjari Released on Bail

Iran Human Rights (IHR); June 11, 2019: Political prisoner Kianoosh Sanjari who was suffering from illnesses, released on bail. 

According to IHR sources, political prisoner Kianoosh Sanjari was released on bail on Sunday, June 9, 2019. A well-informed source told IHR, “He was granted a medical furlough, extendable until his jail time is over. However, he must report his presence to the Ministry of Intelligence’s Follow-up Office on a weekly basis."
Kianoush Sanjari Baf, a human rights activist and blogger who fled the country after his last arrest in 2006, had been working for VOA Persian and human rights organizations abroad. He went back to Iran by his own will to meet his family in 2016, where he was arrested and sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment (Five years applicable) by branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Courts.
