Iran Human Rights, January 3, 2011: According to reports from Iran, the Kurdish political prisoner Hossein Khezri is at imminent danger of execution.

Hossein Khezri (29 years old) was arrested in 2008 in Kermanshah and sentenced to death in 2009 convicted of "Moharebeh" (war againdt the God) through membership in the Kurdish political paty PJAK. His death sentence was sent to the "section for implementation of the verdict" in November 2010, after publication of a letter he wrote from the prison describing how he had been tortured.

He has been held at the prison of Oroumieh (north-west of Iran).

According to "Human Rights activists news agency" (HRANA), SUnday night Hossein Khezri was transferred from his prison cell to unknown location, and his family members are worried that his tranfer could be in connection with the implementation of his death sentence.

At least 40 people have been executed in the last 13 days in Iran, and several political prisoners are in danger of execution.

Iran Human Rights organization has urged the international community to put pressure on the Iranian authorities in order to stop Hossein Khezri’s execution.
