3 Men Including Afghan National at Risk of Execution in Shiraz

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); March 3, 2024: Mostafa Jamil Samadi, Shahrokh Sohrabi and an Afghan national only identified as Iman, were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions in Shiraz Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, three men were transferred to solitary confinement on 2 March in preparation for their executions in Shiraz (Adel Abad) Central Prison. Their identities have been established as 40-year-old Jamil Samadi, 37-year-old Shahrokh Sohrabi and an Afghan national only identified as Iman. Mostafa Jamil is on death row for drug-related charges and Shahrokh and Iman were sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Mostafa Jamil was arrested for drug-related charges three years ago. Shahrokh Sohrabi is a father of one and was arrested for murder two years and five months ago. Iman is from Afghanistan and was arrested for murder three years ago.”
