Iran Human Rights (AUG 2 2016): Five prisoners sentenced to death on drug related charges and two prisoners sentenced to death on murder charges were reportedly executed at Yazd Prison (central Iran). According to the official state run Iranian news agency, Rokna, the executions were carried out on the morning of Thursday August 25.
Among the prisoners was a woman and four men who were hanged on drug related charges. The other two prisoners were hanged on murder charges. The report does not identify the prisoners or state the exact location of the executions.
