Iran Human Rights, October 11.: According to sources in Iran the minor offender Behnoud Shojaee was executed early this morning in Tehran’s Evin prison.

He was convicted of murdering another boy by the name Ehsan 4 years ago. At that time he was 17 years old.

His execution had been halted five times earlier, due to international pressure and attempts by his lawyer and other human rights defenders.

Last night, hundreds of people had gathered outside the Evin prison, in hope of being able to make authorities to postpone the execution once again.

However, after more than four years prison, Behnood Shojaee was hanged early this morning.

The execution was also confirmed by the state run news agency Fars.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, Spokesperson of Iran Human Rights, said: We strongly condemn execution of Behnood, who is yet another violation of Iran’s international obligation. Iranian regime’s leader Ali Khamenei, and head of the judiciary Larijani, must be held responsible for the execution of Behnood, and all other minor offenders. We urge UN, EU and the world community to act now! It is clear that Iranian authorities do not care about international protests and condemnations. Execution of the minors should be taken to the international court!
