Five Prisoners hanged in Iran

Five prisoners were hanged in four different cities of Iran.  Four of the prisoners were charged with murder and sentenced to "qisas" (retribution in kind), and one was charged with rape.   Iran Human Rights, May 7, 2014: Five prisoners were hanged in four different Iranian prisons. One of the executions was not announced by the official sources. According to the Iranian daily newspaper Khorasan, two prisoners were hanged in the prison of Mashhad on Sunday 4. May. The prisoners who were not identified by name were charged with murder , said the report.

One of the prisoners was a 30 year old man. The official website of the Iranian Judiciary in Semnan (northern Iran) reported about the execution of one man in the prison of this city. The prisoner was identified as "T. R." and charged with murder said the report. The execution was carried out on Monday 5. May. A prisoner was hanged in the prison of Maragheh (northwestern Iran) early Wednesday 7. May. The local news "Fardaye ma" reported that the prisoner was charged with rape. A man identified as "Gh. R." was hanged in the prison of Sanandaj (Iranian Kurdistan) according to unofficial sources. According to Kurdpa the man was charged with murder.
