Life Spared for Prisoner Right Before Public Exeution

The life of a man sentenced to death for murder was spared after receiving a last-minute reprieve from the murder victims' families.

Iran Human Rights, Monday September 7 2015: On the morning of Monday September 7, the life of a man sentenced to death for murder was spared after receiving a last-minute reprieve from the murder victims' families. The prisoner, identified as H.J., was reportedly scheduled to be executed in public at a central square in the city of Khoy. 

According to the Tabnak website, an official source in Iran, H.J. was 19 years old when he was arrested for the murder of two children. Iranian officials have not released any information about the identity of the prisoner or the case
