Iranian authorities reportedly executed one prisoner in Shiraz on Sunday October 4 and two prisoners in Sanandaj and Qazvin on Tuesday October 6.
Iran Human Rights, October 6 2015: One prisoner was executed in Shiraz on Sunday October 4 and two prisoners were executed in Sanandaj and Qazvin on Tuesday October 6.
The prisoner in Qazvin was hanged to death at Choobindar Prison for murder, according to a report by the judicial department in the province of Qazvin. After his arrest the prisoner reportedly claimed that he had unintentionally fired his gun at the head of an intruder on his property, however, the public prosecutor in Qazvin rejected his claim and Branch 3 of Qazvin's Criminal Court sentenced him to death. The death sentence was reportedly confirmed by Iran's Supreme Court before it was carried out on Tuesday.
According to a report by the Kurdish Human Rights Defenders group, the prisoner in Sanandaj, identified as Farzad Ahmadpanah, was hanged to death at Sanandaj Central Prison on Tuesday for the murder of his son. According to the HRANA group, the prisoner in Shiraz was hanged to death for murder at Adel Abad Prison. Iranian official sources have not commented or reported on the two executions in Sanandaj and Qazvin.
