Northwestern Iran: Six Prisoners Executed on Drug Charges

Iran Human Rights (JULY 27 2016): Iranian authorities have hanged six prisoners on drug related charges. The executions were carried out at Darya, Urmia's central prison (West Azerbaijan province, northwestern Iran), early morning on Wednesday July 27.

According to reports by unofficial sources, HRANA and the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, the prisoners are: Rahman Fouladi, Abdollah Ghaderi, Mojtaba Shirkhani, Ali Talati, Chengiz Sheeri and Abdol-Majid Herkooli. The men were reportedly transferred from their cells to solitary confinement the day before they were executed. 

At least 48 people have been executed in Iran so far in July 2016.
