Iran: Two More Prisoners Hanged on Drug Charges

Two prisoners were hanged on drug related charges only a few days before a bill to reform the death penalty for drug related executions is set to be addressed by the Iranian Parliament. 

Iran Human Rights (JULY 16 2017): On Saturday July 15, two prisoners were reportedly hanged at Urmia's central prison on drug related charges. Iran Human Rights has obtained the names of the prisoners: Mohammad Reza Sadeghi (pictured below) and Mashallah Siadnavin. 

Iranian official sources, including the Judiciary and the state-run media, have not announced these two executions. 

Mr. Sadeghi and Mr. Siadnavin were hanged three days before a bill to reform the death penalty for drug related charges is scheduled to be addressed in an open session by the Iranian Parliament.
