Prisoner Executed In Eastern Iran

Iran Human Rights (Jan 2 2018): A 30-year-old prisoner was hanged at Mashhad Central Prison on murder charges.

According to Rokna News Agency, on the morning of Sunday December 31, a prisoner was hanged at Mashhad Central Prison. The prisoner was identified as Ali H., 30. He was sentenced to death on the charge of murdering his own father in Jimabad Valley in 2014.

The family members of the prisoner were present as the plaintiffs at the time of his execution.

According to Iran Human Rights annual report on the death penalty, 142 of the 530 execution sentences in 2016 were implemented due to murder charges. There is a lack of a classification of murder by degree in Iran which results in issuing death sentence for any kind of murder regardless of intensity and intent.
