Iran: Execution Stopped by Asking for Time

Iran Human Rights (Apr 23, 2018): Abdolmalek Baluchi, who was in the solitary confinement of Zahedan Central Prison to be executed, was able to return to his cell by asking for time.

According to a close source, Abdolmalek Baluchi, the 26-year-old prisoner from Zahedan Central Prison was transferred to the solitary confinement in order to be executed on Friday, April 13.
Abdolmalek was arrested and sentenced to death on murder charges 5 years ago and had been held at ward 8 of Zahedan Central Prison ever since.
On Saturday, April 21, the plaintiffs granted him a respite for two months a few minutes before the execution, and he returned to his cell.
IHR had previously reported his transfer to the solitary confinement.
