Prisoner's hand was amputated in western Iran

Iran Human Rights, July 3: A prieoner was punished with amputation of one hand in the prison of Malayer, west of Iran, reported the Iranian daily newspaper Kayhan.

According to the report the man was convicted of robbery. The report didn’t mention the man’s name and age.

Iran Human Rights condemned the amputation. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights said: "amputation is yet another barbaric punishment the Iranian authorities use to spread fear among the people".
