One man was hanged in public in southwest of Iran

Iran Human Rights, May 2: One man was hanged in public in the southwest Iranian town of Mahshahr, reported the official website of the Iranian judiciary in Khuzestan province.

The man who was identified as "A. M." was convicted of keeping 2407 grams of crack, said the report.

The hanging took place in public in the town of Mahshahr on Thursday April 28th.

This is the ninth public hanging in the past two weeks in Iran.

It is believed that the public hangings are meant to spread fear among the people before the summer when enw protests are expected.
