Two prisoners executed today- 20 executions in the past eight days in Iran

Iran Human Rights, April 17: Two prisoners were executed in the prison of Zanjan (western Iran) today.

According to the state run Iranian news agency Fars, two prisoners were executed in the prison of Zanjan early this morning April 17. The prisoners who were not identified by name were convicted of keeping and carrying narcotic drugs, said the report.

Since April 9. at least 20 people have been executed in the Iranian cities of Kerman, Tabas, Shahr-e-Kord, Shiraz and Zanjan. All these prisoners have been convicted of drug-related charges and none of them have been identified by their full names.

Yesterday, Iran Human Rights urged the international communityto show strong reactions to the indiscriminate execution of prisoners who are allegedly convicted of drug-related charges.
