Iran: Two Men and a Woman Executed at Mashhad Prison

According to an Iranian news website, Borna, on the morning of Sunday, December 8, a man and a woman were hanged at the central prison of Mashhad city, Iran. Maryam (32) and Mehdi (33) were sentenced to death for murdering a woman six years ago. 

Also Khorasan Daily reported that on Tuesday, December 10, an Afghan national was hanged at the same prison. Naeim was sentenced to death for murdering a man during a street fight.

Out of the 110 people who were executed in the first half of 2019, 83 were sentenced to qisas (retribution in-kind) for murder.
