Abdollah Farivar Moghadam could be facing death by stoning soon

Iran Human Rights, February 2: Iran Human Rights reported on December 16. about a 48-year-old man, who is father of two children, faces death by stoning in Iran after he was accused of having had extra-marital sex. In an interview with the Persian language Radio Farda, which is broadcasted from outside Iran, the sister of the man has said that the stoning verdict has been approved again by the Supreme Court and the sentence could be taking place soon. According to the her, the section for implementation of the verdict (Ejraye Ahkam) in the city of Sari, informed the family earlier this week, that they are waiting for the written command in orde to implement the sentence.

 

The man, who is identified as Abdollah Farivar Moghaddam (49), is a music teacher who is married and have two children. Three years ago he was arrested convicted of extramarital relationship. He was later sentenced to death by stoning by a court in the city of Sari, in the province of Mazanderan. His sentence has been approved by the Supreme Court.
