Iran Human rights, January 31: According to the official reports from the Iranian government and state-run media, 35 people were executed in Iran in the month of January 2008.

Among those executed there is one woman: Rahele Zamani, the 27 years old mother of two children (3 years old boy and 5 years old girl)

One man, Reza Sharifi (21), was executed by the firing squad and then hanged by neck for 15 minutes

Zamel Bavi was executed in Ahwaz prison on January 30.

Most of the others were executed by hanging.

One member of the Kurdish group PJAK was executed, but the exact time of the execution is not certain, that is why it is not taken into account in the January report.

On January 29, 28 people were transferred from the Gohardasht prison in Karaj, to the Evin prison in Tehran, for execution.

According to the official reports 5 men were hanged on January 30 in the Evin prison, and 3 others were given a deadline to pay bloodmoney. We still don´t know about the other 20 who were transferred to the Evin prison for execution. Some reports say that several might have been executed or could be executed soon.
