Three minors have been sentenced to death in Isfahan

Iran Human rights, Match 2: According to the Iranian daily Etemad-e-melli, three minors have been sentenced to death convicted of murder, by a court in Isfahan. These minors are identified as Reza (age 20; 15 years old at the time of committing the offence), Ahmad (age 16; 15 years ols at the time of committing the offence) and Iman (age 19; 17 years old at the time of committing the offence).

Reza’s death sentence has been approved by the supreme court and if the family of the offended do not agree to forgive him, he could be executed soon.

The death sentences of Iman and Ahmad is under consideration at the supreme court.

According to their lawyer, they were all minors at the time of committing the offence and sentencing them to death is in conflict to the UN’s convention of children’s right which Iran has ratified.

Another minor, Javad Shojaee, was hanged in Isfahan last week (February 26).
