Iran Human Rights, April 12: A court in Tehran has sentenced a minor offender to death today, reported the state run news agency ISCANEWS. He is identified as Kamal (17) and is charged for murdering Shahin (24) one year ago, according to the report. It is not clear whether Kamal was 17 at bthe time of the alleged crime or he is 17 years old now.

Iran has ratified UN’s convention of the children’s rights which bans death penalty for offences committed under 18 years of age. However, Iran was the only country in the world executing minor offenders in 2007, where at least 10 minor offenders where executed.
