Iran Human Rights, May 5: Behnood Shojaee is scheduled to be executed in Tehran’s Evin prison on Wednesday May 7.He is convicted of murdering another boy identified as Omid in a group fighting at Tehran’s Vanak park 3 years ago when Behnood was 17 years old.
Behnood was later sentenced to death and his sentence was approved by the supreme court. He is scheduled to be executed on Wednesday.
In a last attampt to save his life, Behnood has written a letter to Omid’s mother asking her for forgiveness. Part of the letter has been published today in the Iranian daily newspaper etemaad.com/Released/87-02-16/97.htm#23561" class='spip_out' rel='external'>Etemaad.
The human rights activists believe that international focus could help saving Behnood’s life.
His execution is a violation of UN’s convention of the rights of the children which Iran has ratified.
