Iran Human Rights, May 6: Behnood Shojaee’s scheduled execution has been postponed for one month, reported the state run Iranian news agency ISNA this evening.
The news agency which was quoting Fakhredin Jafarzadeh, a judiciary official, said: BEhnood’s scheduled execution has been postponed for one month after order from the head of the Iranian judiciary Shahroudi.
Behnood Shojaee who is convicted for a murder he allegedly committed when he was 17 years old, was scheduled to be hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison early tomorrow morning.
Iran has ratified the UN concention for the rights of the children, but is the country with the highest number of death penalty to minors.
