The Kurdish political activist died at the hospital-allegedly as a result of torture in the prison
Iran Human Rights, May 18: Kaveh Azizpour (25) a Kurdish political activist died at a hospital on saturday May 17 after about 20 days of being in coma, reported AUT news. According to Kaveh’s family he had gone through cerebral infarction (bleeding?) and three priods of coms, because of the torture he was subjected to while he was in prison, said the report.
The report added, quoting Kaveh’s brother Assad Azizpour, that after his last operation Kaveh was dragged out of hospital by the Ministry agents immediately 48 hours after the operation, while ignoring the medical staff’s warnings about Kaveh’s. , only to be interrogated once again. Assad Azizpour insisted that, the doctors had made it clear to the authorities that Kaveh needed at least 2 months of rehabilitation and any transfer of Kaveh Azizpour before 2 months would be fatal for him.
Kaveh Azizpour was arrested by the Iranian intelligence agents two years ago in Mahabad, charged for co-operation with Kurdish dissident groups.
