Iran Human Rights, April 20, 2016: Two prisoners were hanged in the Central prison of Mashhad (Northeastern Iran) Sunday morning April 17, reported Iranian media.
According to the Iranian daily newspaer "Khorasan" one of the prisoners was a young man who had committed a murder under a robbery. The other prisoner was a man convicted of murdering another man. The convict suspected the victim wanted to have an affair with his sister, said the report.
None of the prisoners were identified by name. Since April 10 at least 32 people have been executed in the Iranian prisons, 15 of them charged with drug offences and 16 charged with murder.
