Iran Human Rights, September 14: The minor offender Rahim Ahmadi is at imminent danger of execution, reported Mohammad Mostafaei who is lawyer of several minors who are on the death row in Iran.

Rahim (20) is convicted of a murder he allegedly committed when he was 15 years old. According to his lawyer, he used a knife in self defence, a fact that the court didn’t pay attention to. Rahim was sentenced to death, his sentenced approved by the supreme court. The execution order has now been sent by Mr. Shahroudi, head of the Iranian Judiciary to Adelabad prison in Shiraz.

According to Mr. Mostafaei, Rahim could be executed at any moment. The Iranian authorities hanged another minor prisoner, php?article634" class='spip_in'>Behnam Zare, Adelabad prison in August 2008 without informing his lawyer or family.

So far six juvenile offenders have been executed in Iran in 2008.
