Iran: Two Prisoners with Drug Charges in Imminent Danger of Execution

Iran Human Rights (JAN 24 2017): Two prisoners are in imminent danger of execution in Karaj's Ghezel Hesar Prison after they were transferred from their cells to solitary confinement.

According to close sources, the prisoners were moved to solitary confinement on the morning of Monday January 23 in preparation for their executions.  Close sources have identified the prisoners as Majid Askari and Rahman Nourian, both on death row for alleged drug related offenses.

"Majid was arrested six years ago for possession of one kilogram and 100 grams of crystal meth, he was sentenced to death by the revolutionary court," a source close to Mr. Askari tells Iran Human Rights.
