Iran Human Rights (Jan 8 2018): Security forces Arrested Sepideh Farahan (Farahabadi) and transferred her to solitary confinement. The arrest of more than 1700 people including 100 students in recent protests has been confirmed.
According to a close source, Sepideh Farahan (Farahabadi) a civil activist, was arrested in Tehran's Enghelab Square and transferred to an unknown place on Tuesday January 2.
Security forces called Sepideh’s family after one week informing them that she was in solitary confinement under investigation and she was not allowed to call or visit her family.
It should be noted that the arrest of more than 1700 people including 100 students in recent protests has been confirmed. Moreover, the death of at least 24 people has been confirmed by the officials. However, most families of those who were injured, arrested or dead in the recent protests were too afraid to talk to Iran Human Rights (IHR) because of intimidation by the security institutions and lack of knowledge about how to handle these kinds of situations. This can worsen the condition of the detainees and leave the dead unavenged.
