Iran: Prisoner Scheduled To Be Executed in Isfahan

Iran Human Rights (Apr 28, 2018): At least one prisoner, charged with drug-related offences, was transferred to the solitary confinement of Isfahan Central Prison in order to be executed.

According to the IHR sources, on the morning of Saturday, April 28, at least one prisoner, charged with drug-related offences, was transferred to the solitary confinement of Isfahan Central Prison.
The prisoner is identified as Kioumars Nosuhi, from Kermanshah.
A close source told Iran Human Rights, “Because Kioumars was accused to be the leader of a drug gang, his sentence was not reviewed after the new drug law. However, his brother is trying to stop the execution through the Supreme Court.”
It should be noted that the new drug law, which reduces death penalty for drug-related offences and the punishment of those sentenced to death and life imprisonment, was enforced on November 14, 2017, and the execution of the defendants charged with drug-related offences had been stopped.
