Iran Human Rights, December 22: The juvenile offender, Behnood Shojaee is scheduled to be executed on Wednesday December 24, wrote his lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei in an e-mail to Iran Human Rights.
Behnood Shojaee is convicted of murdering another boy at the age of 17. He was sentenced to death by a court in Tehran and his execution has been halted several times, mainly due to the attention his case got internationally and among human rights defenders in Iran.
Iran has ratified UN’s convention for children’s rights, which bans death penalty for the offences committed under 18 years of age.
