Iran Executions: Man Hanged at Kashan Prison

Iran Human Rights (IHR); July 24, 2019: A man was hanged at Kashan prison for murder charges last weekend.

According to IMNA News, on the morning of Sunday, July 21, a man was executed at the Iranian city of Kashan’s prison.

Kashan’s Deputy Attorney General, Rouhollah Dehghani, said, “the defendants confessed he had a relationship with the victim’s wife. He and the victim’s wife conspired to commit the murder.” The wife was sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment.

IMNA News has not mentioned any name but Human Rights Activists for Democracy in Iran revealed the executed man’s name as Majid Mosleh, 30.

At least 110 people were executed in Iran in the first half of 2019; Only 37 of the executions have been announced by authorities or Iranian media. Iran Human Rights (IHR) could confirm 73 more through its sources. IHR only reports the unannounced executions if it could confirm those with two separate credible sources. Therefore, the actual number of executions may be even higher than reported.
