Iran Human Rights, November 8: The women’s rights activist, Delaram ali, who was sentenced to 34 months of prison for participating in a peaceful gathering for equal righte between men and women, will start her prison term on Saturday November 10. She told this in an interview with the internet journal Rooz.

Earlier this week it was reported in the AutNews (belonging to the Amirkabir Technical University of Tehran, known as Polytechnic), that the court has reconfirmed Delaram Ali’s prison sentence, although the sentence has been reduced from 34 months to 30 months.

She was originaly also sentenced to 10 lashes as well, but this sentence is lifted now.

She is convicted on charges of "participating in an illegal gathering", "propaganda against the system", and "disrupting public order and peace, because of her participation in a peaceful gathering in Tehran last year.

Many look at the sentence as start of a harder crackdown on the women’s rights activists.
