Iran: Man Hanged at Shiraz Prison

Iran Human Rights (IHR); November 10, 2019: A man was hanged at the central prison of Shiraz city last Monday.
According to IHR sources, on the morning of Monday, November 4, prisoner Hossein Asgari was hanged at Shiraz Central Prison (also known as Adelabad prison).
A human rights group, Nafad Dar Ghafas, has reported that Hossein Asgari was arrested three years ago and sentenced to death for murder charges.
Out of the 110 people who were executed in the first half of 2019, 83 were sentenced to qisas (retribution in-kind) for murder.

مطهره گونهای، دانشجوی دندانپزشکی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران، پیشتر نیز بهدلیل شرکت در اعتراضات ۱۴۰۱ و مخالفت با مجازات اعدام بازداشت و از تحصیل محروم شده بود.

مطهره گونهای، فعال دانشجویی، امروز ۱۶ شهریور پس از مراجعه به اجرای احکام بازداشت و برای اجرای حکم حبس به زندان اوین منتقل شد.
او پیشتر بابت «تبلیغ علیه نظام» به ۱۵ ماه و بابت «اهانت به رهبری» به شش ماه حبس محکوم شده بود.
