Iran: Two Prisoners Hanged in Shiraz

Iran Human Rights (IHR); February 13, 2020: Two death-row prisoners were hanged at the central prison of Shiraz city, Iran, on February 12.
According to HRANA, on the morning of Wednesday, Feb 14, 2020, two-row prisoners were hanged at Shiraz prison. They were identified as Hadi Mahi and Sadegh Akbarpor, co-defendants in a rape-murder case.
They were held around 3 years in prison before the execution.

ولیجان نورزای تمام سه سال حبس خود را بر اثر جراحت گلوله روی ویلچر گذراند و به گفته منبع مطلع تا آخرین لحظه بر بیگناهی خود اصرار داشت. اعدام هر دو زندانی رسماً اعلام نشده بود.

ولیجان نورزای، ۲۹ ساله و تبعه افغانستان، و یدالله شمسی، ۳۰ ساله، در زندان رفسنجان اعدام شدند. هر دو در پروندههای جداگانه با اتهام قتل عمد به قصاص محکوم شده بودند.
