Two Prisoners Hanged in Western Iran

Iran Human Rights (IHR); April 22, 2020: Two men were hanged at Sanandaj and Kermanshah prisons for murder charges this morning.

On the morning of Wednesday, April 22, Loghman Ahmadpour was hanged at the central prison of Sanandaj, Kurdistan province. According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, he was sentenced to qisas (retribution) for murder.

On the same day, Touraj Morad Haseli (34) was hanged at Kermanshah prison, the Iranian western province of Kermanshah. According to Hengaw's report, his lawyer had not been informed about the time of his execution.

Executions in Iran have continued to be carried out even after the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country.

According to IHR’s Annual Report on the Death Penalty in Iran, at least 280 people were executed in Iran in 2019.
