A MINOR OFFENDER AND A WOMAN AMONG THE FOUR EXECUTED IN SHIRAZ ON MAY 20

Iran Human Rights, May 23: Four people were hanged in the prison of Shiraz early Wednesday morning, according to several Iranian newspapers such as Etemad today.

According to the report the four people hanged in Shiraz on Wednesday were:

 A woman identified as Afsaneh (29), convicted of extramarital relationship and murdering her husband in 2006

 An Afghan man (age not mentioned) convicted of raping a 50 years old woman in 2005

 A man identified as Rasoul (age not given) convicted of keeping drugs

 A 20 years young man convicted of a murder in August 2006. According to this information this unidentified young man was a minor at the time of committing the alleged offence. Iran Human Rights is investigating further the name and information about this case.

"If the man hanged on Wednesday was a minor offender, he would be at least the third minor offender to be executed in Iran in 2009" said Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of the site Iran Human Rights.

Delara Darabi, the well known minor offender was hanged in the prison of Rasht on May 1. Her execution lead to widespread condemnations by the international society.
