Baluch Behzad Narouyi Executed for Drug Offences in Zahedan

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 7, 2022: Behzad Narouyi, a Baluch man sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was executed in Zahedan Central Prison.

According to Hal Vash, a Baluch man was executed in Zahedan Central Prison on the morning of July 7. His identity has been reported as 33-year-old Behzad Narouyi.

Behzad Narouyi was a taxi driver in Zahedan at the time of his arrest in 2018 and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, at least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.
