Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 23, 2022: Four Baluch men named Farhad Kouhkan, Davoud Amirzadeh, Hamid Jahangard and Habib Totazehi were executed in Zabol Prison this morning.
According to Hal Vash, four Baluch men were executed in Zahedan Prison on July 23. The identities of three of the men sentenced to death for drug-related charges have been reported as Farhad Kouhkan, 35-year-old Davoud Amirzadeh-Gorgij (pictured) and Hamid Jahangard (Shehbakhsh). They were separately arrested between 2018-2020 and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
The identity of the fourth man has been reported as Habib Totazehi who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.
At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.
