Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); November 7, 2022: Nematollah Barahouyi and Amanollah Alizehi, two Baluch men sentenced to death for drug-related charges, were executed in Zahedan Central Prison. Mr Barahouyi was killed by prison guards for resisting execution, but his corpse was hanged to declare the cause of death as execution to avoid judicial consequences.

According to Hal Vash, two Baluch men were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on November 6. Their identities have been reported as Nematollah Barahouyi and Amanollah Alizehi, both Zahedan natives who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.

Nematollah Barahouyi who was arrested in Zahedan two years ago, was killed by security guards for resisting execution. Yet, his lifeless corpse was hanged to declare his cause of death as execution to avoid judicial consequences.

Amanollah Alizehi who was arrested in Zahedan two years ago, was secretly executed without his family or lawyer being informed.

At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.
