Baluch Heidar Hassani Maram Executed in Yasuj

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); December 5, 2022: Heidar Hassani Maram, a Baluch man sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was executed in Yasuj Central Prison. Over 500 people have so far been executed in 2022, the highest rate in five years.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a Baluch man was executed in Yasuj Central Prison on December 4. His identity has been established as Heidar Hassani Maram who was arrested four years ago.

He was sentenced to death for drug-charges by the Revolutionary Court. Heidar was married with a young child.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

At least 498 people including 2 juvenile offenders and 13 women have been executed so far in 2022. Of the 498 people, 221 were executed for drug-related charges and 147 were Baluch minorities.
