Unnamed Man Executed for Armed Robbery in Dezful

According to ISNA, a man was executed in Dezful Prison on 6 August. The unnamed was sentenced to death for charges of moharebeh and efsad-fil-arz through armed robbery with a cold weapon.

Khuzestan province’s head of judiciary was quoted as saying: “This individual was arrested on charges of committing multiple thefts from women at different locations including hairdressers, gyms and Quran schools with cold weapon including knives and machetes. After the initial investigations, given the number of claimants and the terror and public insecurity caused, he was sentenced to death.”

According to Iran Human Rights data, at least 582 people were executed in Iran in 2022.
