URGENT: THE IRANIAN WOMAN SHAHLA JAHED WILL BE EXECUTED TOMORROW

Iran human Rights, November 30: According to the reports from Iran, Shahla Jahed, wife of the former player of the Iranian national soccer team, is scheduled to be executed in Tehran’s Evin prison early tomorrow morning Wednesday December 1.

Shahla Jahed and her lawyer have been informed about the scheduled execution.

Khadijeh Shahla Jahed was convicted of murdering Laleh Saharkhizan, wife of Nasser Mohammad-Khani in 2002. She initially confessed to the murder but later stressed that she was innocent and that the confessions were made under pressure in the prison.

Last Monday she once again insisted that she is innocent.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights asked the world community to put pressure on the Iranian regime in order to stop Shahla’s execution. He said: "The world should not silently witness Shahla’s execution". He continued: We ask all the UN, all the governments, the civil society and every single individual to do what they can do to stop this execution". "Spread the news, write e-mails to your governments and ask them to protest against Shahla’s scheduled execution" he ended.
