SHAHLA JAHED WAS EXECUTED THIS MORNING

Iran Human Rights, December 1: According to reliable sources in Iran, the Iranian woman Shahla Jahed was hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison early this morning Wednesday December 1.

It has been said that Shahla was crying while she was taken to the gallows. According to the reports, the execution was performed by the family of Laleh Saharkhizan, the woman Shahla was convicted of murdering.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesman of Iran Human Rights strongly condemned the execution and said: "It is the leadership of the Iranian authorities who is responsible for Shahla’s execution and all other executions in Iran. The fact that the execution was conducted by the family of the offended shows yet another barbaric side of the Iranian law".

Amiry-Moghaddam added: "My thoughts go to Shahla’s family and all the people worldwide who have been working against her execution in the past few years. Shahla’s execution is a reminder of how barbaric this punishment is and should inspire us to work even harder in order to abolish death penalty once and for all".

He ended:" World community must exert sustainable pressure on the Iranian regime in order to stop all the executions. The reactions must not vary so much depending on other circumstances"
