Mohammad Mokhtari and Sane Zhaleh: the two people killed in yesterdays demonstrations- More protests expercted tomorrow

Iran Human Rights, February 15: The identities of the man who was shot dead under yesterday’s pro-democracy protests in Tehran, was reveled today.

According to the "Human Rights Activists News Agency" HRANA, and several reliable sources Sane Zhaleh (26) was an art student who was shot dead at the "Tohid" street of Tehran.

Another young man who was shot at the same location yesterday, died at the hospital today. He was identified as Mohammad Mokhtari 22 years old.

Iranian authorities have confirmed that two men were killed in connection with yesterday’s Tehran protests, but have blamed the opposition for the shooting.

"At Monday’s rally two people were martyred and many were wounded; one person was shot dead," Kazem Jalali was quoted as saying by ISNA. Unlike what Iranian authorities claim, plain cloth pro-regime agents on motorbike had been observed by several witnesses shooting at the demonstrators with a revolver.

More than 1500 protesters are reported to be arrested yesterday in Tehran.

According to our sources more protests are expected tomorrow. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights, expressed concern about the increasing use of violence by the Iranian authorities and said: "We have reports indicating that the agents of the Iranian regime might attack the opposition leader’s houses during the night". He added:" We are strongly concerned about increasing use of violence towards the protestors and possibility of torture and execution of the prisoners".
