FIVE PEOPLE HANGED TODAY- ONE MAN SCHEDULED TO BE EXECUTED PUBLICLY IN TEHRAN TOMORROW

Iran Human Rights, September 12: Five prisoners were hanged in the prison of Shahroud in Semnan province (north of Iran) early this morning. According to the official site of the judiciary in Semnan they were all convicted of drug trafficking. None of those executed today were identified by name or age.

The state run Iranian news agency Fars reported that a man identified as Koosha (picture) is scheduled to be hanged publically in Tehran tomorrow September 13. He is convicted of murdering a girl by the name Mahsa on July 6th this year.

The execution is scheduled to take place at the Modiriat Bridge located in northwestern Tehran, where the murder took place.

According to the reports from Iran, at least 22 people have been executed in the last 9 days in Iran and several executions are scheduled to take place in the coming days.

The spokesperson of Iran Human Rights, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam strongly condemned the execution wave in Iran and urged the international community to put pressure on the Iranian authorities in order to stop the barbaric executions.
