Manouchehr Mehman Navaz is a 46-year-old father of two daughters. He was arrested in relation to a "Woman, Life, Freedom" protest in Qarchak, in Karaj where he was accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at a government building. His trial was reported to have taken place by state media on 30 October 2022.
CHARGES: Arson of buildings with the intention of opposing the Islamic government/moharebeh punishment for throwing Molotov cocktails at an empty government building that did not cause injury. Judge relied on elme-qazi to set punishment as his actions did not meet the definition of moharebeh.
STATUS: Sentenced to death by Branch 28 of Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Amouzad. There is no verifiable update on his case.
